ESG
At Churchill we are dedicated to a sustainable future, and our actions are underpinned by the Churchill Group core values – always do right, Always seek better and Always put people first.
Doing the right thing starts with our core belief and purpose to do right by our people, communities and our planet.
Our ethos brings together our continual effort to be sustainable in all we do for ourselves and our clients. This incorporates our strategies around the environment, our social impact and the wellbeing of people.
Environment
In our cleaning operations, we are committed to minimising our environmental impact. We carefully select the chemicals that we use to be non-hazardous and non-polluting. Our products are sustainably produced, rely on minimal single use plastic and are recycled wherever possible. The equipment we use, like vacuums and scrubbers, is energy efficient and sourced from partners that we manage carefully as part of our Scope 3 commitments.
Examples of products used include:
- Bubbleflush
- Odorbac & Loopbox
- Cleanline ECO Pouches
- Clean Works Pro Eco floor pads
We will help you to select the best products to suit your built environments and contribute positively to your own corporate environmental objectives.
Social value
We have a social value framework that serves as a blueprint for guiding colleagues, customers and the communities we work within to align their actions with socially beneficial outcomes.
One of our priorities is to assist individuals facing barriers to employment and those with challenging life experiences, helping them thrive within our communities – this includes veterans, care-experienced young people, survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We collaborate with a number of charities including Drive Forward, Northern Rights, Shaw Trust and West Lea.
We are a disability confident employer, we are a corporate member of Neurodiversity In Business, a member of EDAC, and menopause friendly employer. We have joined the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group and we partner with the Social Value Portal.
In 2024, our group was awarded the ‘Rising Star’ award by the Sustainable Facilities Management Index. We were recognised with the Rising Star award for our multiple social value activities.
